ABOUT

Emily Dumas was raised in West Michigan and is pursuing her dream of becoming a local business leader by acquiring and leading a company.
Prior to founding Lumbertown Capital, Emily spent her career in scientific and regulatory roles at biotechnology companies. Most recently, Emily worked at a small oncology firm managing a team leading the scientific strategy, execution and interpretation of clinical trials to treat lung and breast cancer. Prior to this role, Emily spent 14 years at a large pharmaceutical company in clinical research and regulatory strategy roles where she worked on the development of drugs to treat infectious diseases, cancer, and kidney disease. Emily earned her BA in Biology from Kalamazoo College and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Emily, her husband John, daughters Vivian (6) and Camille (3), and black lab Lexie, reside in Norton Shores, MI. Emily is a member of the Kalamazoo College Alumni Association Engagement Board and in her free time enjoys spending time exercising, boating, and vegetable gardening.
